Because Adobe wants to support its enterprise customers as best as possible
in the current environment.  These customers have spent significant money on
support contracts and Adobe will currently only certify and support code it
has built and tested itself.

Plus, Adobe just released 4.6.  It wouldn't make sense to pull it off the
market, especially without an Apache release to even compare it to.

The Apache Flex project will not be successful unless the releases are of
high enough quality that those customers are willing to move to it.  Let's
make it happen.
