Shame on me, I thought I read that saying it was a community resource was ok.

That's definitely my fault, should I revert it?

I'm not saying this shouldn't be done, but shouldn't this go through some kind of vote process/discussion?

The channel now says its the "Official Apache Flex Channel" but no- one has really commented on that yet have they, except Bertrand with concerns. Does Apache Flex require IRC?

That said I do think IM speeds things up, but it would be very difficult to make sure nothing is decided there after some good discussion.

Can one of the committers please add this patch that I created? Feel free to modify text if need be. Warning, I did not actually test this using
that metalanguage.

Cheers,

Bertrand, I completely agree. The IRC channel is *not* for Apache Flex project decisions, it is only a place to get Flex development related help.
I will mention this on the project website.

Mike

the "Unofficial Adobe Flex Channel"; maybe we can make it the official
one?..

I think that's cool *but* people should remember that "if it didn't
happen on the dev list it didn't happen".

In other words, IRC is fine as the equivalent of a coffee machine chat
place, but no decisions should be made there, and as soon as a
discussion becomes "important" (whatever that means) it should be
reflected here.
