I looked in your logs, it doesn't seem like you are adding a new chip. Your chip was recognised as MX25U6435E/F is this correct? And you were able to read and write successfully. The message says this chip was not tested for write-protect operation, but you are not using it anyway. Just in case, documentation for adding support is here: https://flashrom.org/contrib_howtos/how_to_add_new_chip.html The doc also has a section about write-protection.
