It seems libusb dependency is not recognised, in your case you need libusb. When you are building from source, in the beginning meson prints lots of info, find what it says about libusb. For example, on my environment here I have this line:
Run-time dependency libusb-1.0 found: YES 1.0.27 I suspect you have NO and you need to achieve YES Check the instructions about libraries, especially section on Ubuntu: https://flashrom.org/dev_guide/building_from_source.html For your work to add support for CH341b it would be really good to have a patch eventually.
