Tony I hate to fill up lists about important things (like film scanning) with off-topic issues (like spam), but I also hate to see spamcop unfairly tarnished.
I use spamcop to filter my email, and I get very few false positives. (I have a few friends who use aol, which comes and goes from the list). Spamcop filters by sender IP, not sender address. I get about 700 spams/ week, of which Spamcop filters 95% or more. You are right that filtering by email address would be pointless. As for spamcop not delisting, I accidently listed my own ISP, and w/in 9 hours I was able to get it off the spamcop list. It wasn't easy, but it was possible. And, in any event, all IPs listed in spamcop cycle off after 3 days, if they are not reported again. Spamcop has lots of problems, but I don't think that any of the issues you list below are among them. A PS--Thanks for helping to return this list to a better level of discussion.
