Because at this point I can't afford a scanner to scan 4x5 sheet film, I am looking into going to a service bureau and getting some sheets scanned. Most places here in the US (Houston, TX.) offer high-end CCD film scanners, which are geared towards color (duh...) and I would like some advice as to what to look for to get the best B&W scans. I have been told drum scanners are the only option that makes a real difference. Is this true? They seem to be practically non-existent, and the 2 places I talked to are _very_ expensive. That being the case, amongst good CCD scanners, are there particular ones that convert to B&W significantly better? Spring for the primo drum scans?
Thanks. -Joe ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe by mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED], with 'unsubscribe filmscanners' or 'unsubscribe filmscanners_digest' (as appropriate) in the message title or body
