responding to perceived presumptuousness with pomposity isn't helpful.

Welcome to the list Rodger.

Might I suggest you might have held your tongue (or typing fingers) a
bit longer then, until you got to know some of us better.  It just so
happens that a lot of those "substantive messages" come from the same
people who occasionally speak about golf balls or odder objects.

If you find the golf balls get in the way of a clear "drive" beyond the
"fairway", well, I suppose its your choice as to the amount of noise you
are willing to tolerate to get to the signal.

Just wondering, do you make it a habit of arriving at a pub as a
newcomer to tell the regulars what they should be drinking?
