I've attached below a list of the suggestions people have made in the past few days. If a suggestion has been made more than once, a count is at the front of the line.
VueScan 7.4 incorporates a real-time (or near real time) preview update (along with a scan update). I'm guessing that this will meet most of the needs for the histogram with sliders, since the histogram updates as well when an option slider is changed. (It's difficult to explain why this works better than putting sliders on the histogram, but the complexities of the options that affect the histogram make it infeasible to put the sliders directly on the histogram). Regards, Ed Hamrick 6 Histogram with sliders (like Photoshop) 6 Multiple previews (batch previews) 5 More film types (Fuji, Ilford, Agfa, old films) 4 Real-time preview update 4 Custom monitor profiles 3 Curve tool 2 Options for sizing output (different units, different dpi) 2 Multiple IR cleaning levels 3 Better frame offset/auto cropping on LS-4000 2 Root file name for raw and crop files (or make crop take raw root name) 2 Display focus point 2 Use wildcards for raw scan files, put outputs in different directory with same names 2 Eye dropper for black, white, midtone 2 Better IR dust removal on FS4000 and 2740S 2 Rescan for new devices (i.e. USB devices) 2 Carry .ini files from one version to the next 2 Grain reduction improvements 2 Pause/Resume button (with auto resume after time limit) Make preview/scan go blank before starting scan (maybe) Q60 scanner calibration More scanner resolutions (i.e. intermediate resolutions) User-generated film profiles Better IR cleaning on Nikon More in-depth user's guide Reset button to reset to defaults and exit button Up/Down arrows for changes, shift for 10 unit changes, mouse wheel User's Guide in PDF format Spinners (up/down clicks) Preview scan at 100% File names on index page Trimming black/white points with mouse Calibration for Tri-X and Ilford HP5 Automatic registration of multi-pass scans Descreening (frequency domain) Show focus point in preview pane Faster writing of compressed tiff files to disk File name should stay visible after files written More detail in user's guide about color balance, media type, black/white points Multi-thread VueScan Remove X/Y window offsets from Prefs tab Auto rotate (put lightest part of frame at top) Color sampler to sample pixel values with mouse Sliders need incremental adjustments (wxSpinCtrl) Pixel radius for IR cleaning Map film frame numbers to file numbers Allow arbitrary color profiles for scanners Allow arbitrary color space profiles for output files TWAIN or Photoshop filter Add non-default option settings to comments field of images Side by side view of preview, before and after changed option Some options should be reset when frame number changed Leave message somewhere saying what last processing option was (or have log window) Make sure status window isn't truncated by long file names Change Output tiff settings when "Device|Bits per pixel" changes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe by mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED], with 'unsubscribe filmscanners' or 'unsubscribe filmscanners_digest' (as appropriate) in the message title or body
