Different kind/colour of 'overcast', I suspect, to the winter half-light often found 
in N.Europe winters. Which is more like underwater than daylight. White cloud 
illuminated by sun above is fine - better than open blue sky and sunlight, as shade is 
illuminated by blue sky - but we get mucky grey cloud here. I'll take a colour temp 
reading next time it's like that here - today is actually fairly bright overcast with 
weak sun, and wouldn't upset Provia.

A secondary issue is lab calibration. Labs either run E6 optimised for Kodak or Fuji. 
Kodak Q-lab monitoring is more common in UK, and Kodak optimisation cools Provia 
slightly.
