I've been doing this:
Next, convert 'hdmv_pgs_subtitle's to 'dvd_subtitle's; make an mkv that
contains only subtitles.
It takes 5 to 10 minutes.
Note that the step following this step extracts only dvd subtitles and only
from mkv transports.
