Hi,

1) It is indeed the standard desktop video driver.
2) You can unzip it wherever you want, just make sure you use the same path 
when you prepare the configuration file.
3) You can make a « brew update » and « brew upgrade <program> » to make sure 
you have the latest version of all dependencies.
