In addition, I would like to add that the version 2 of Homebrew works not only on macOS, but also on Linux and even on Windows running Linux. The proposal made would offer again an easy way to install a parametrable FFmpeg to the end user. I guess the discussion is "only" on: should this happen inside or outside the official FFmpeg. My personal preference would be inside. Hoping this is useful!
