Thank you for pointing this out. Do you know when the atomics code in libav will be merged to ffmpeg? I don't want add new code that will interfere with the merge. On the other hand, the new code I wanted to add will be easy to rewrite using C11 atomics. So this all depends on when the merge will be performed.
