https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/4988 <https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/4988> I’ve been having similar problems capturing video using v4l2 and the Magewell XI100DUSB-HDMI capture device. I’ve attached some logs to the bug report to illustrate the issue plus two potential patches to address it. I would appreciate some feedback. This is the first time I’ve looked at this area of code, so my knowledge is basic despite staring at v4l2.c and ffmpeg.c all day :) Ideally I’d find a way for v4l2 to self-correct without the need for the “-timestamps discard” option but I’ve not yet been able to come up with anything.
