another concrete thing that requires a decission on the AVClass question (not neccessarily adding it but a clear yes or no) is the 3.1 release, we are 3 month after 3.0 so it would be time to make it its not possible to add AVClass or AVOptions after making a 3.1 release it can be done then only in "4.0" (assuming we match ABI major bumping with the major version).
