That is true, but fortunately, most real-world files in normal formats based
on XML do not use the hard features of XML. Therefore there is another
option: write a parser for a reasonable subset of XML and declare anything
beyond unsupported. In practice, that would not be a monstrous work and
support almost all files in the wild, and be useful for quite a few formats.
