Hi.

We have audio visualization filters like showfreqs, showspectrum, etc.,
but they are meant to be accurate and therefore have little latitude to
look nice. The nicest seems to be showcqt, and even it becomes
repetitive after some time.

AFAIK, we do not have any artistic audio visualization filters, filters
that turn audio into video with the sole purpose of looking good by
pulsing with the bass and vibrating with the melody. That might include
several different modes of pulsating and vibrating and transitions from
one mode to another triggered by changes in the audio.

If we have this kind of filter, please point it to me. (I am especially
interested in one that can do n × 1 output.)

If we do not, then I suggest we might encourage contributing it. It is
not easy, but it is a slightly different set of skills than usually
required to contribute to ffmpeg, more artistic vibing.

(Side note: for the colors of the visualization, drawing trochoids with
random coefficients in the hue-saturation disk gives nice results.)

Regards,
