Like I suggested a few times, I think we should establish a number of "positions" for which people can apply to volunteer and then get elected for a certain period of time, just like the TC and CC are being elected. A "Social Media Representative" would be one such position. Instead of having someone who never got elected and eventually starting a revocation poll, an elected position provides a sane procedure and also confidence for the volunteer to be backed by a majority. When getting into a controversial situation, the community should - at least publicly - rally behind that elected person, even when there's disagreement regarding certain actions, as then it will also be a responsibility of all those who voted for that person. When there's dissatisfaction, the community can vote for someone else for the subsequent period.
