Which is exactly the problem: instead of a very visible problem, you get a subtly-wrong behaviour. The very visible problem would be fixed right away, the faulty behaviour would stay for years. Predictable and reproducible maybe, but faulty is faulty. This example exhibits one of the reasons that make me strongly dislike your way of developing.
