I am all for documenting development practices, though I don't think they have to be applied retroactively to old changes. In any case, this is a minor difference of opinion in my eyes. I do not absolutely insist this function be removed RIGHT NOW, I would just prefer to see it gone soon, since we have way too much old cruft as is.
