If that is all, then no. Please spend your time in more useful manners. As somebody who maintains parts of libavdevice, I do not want tracking history made more difficult and brittle, I do not to have to type an extra path component, and I see no benefit. In fact, since you dislike libavdevice so much, I suggest you add --disable-avdevice to your configure line, and let the people who do not hate it work on it in peace.
