The only distributions which still use it according to https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Downstreams are ROSA 2012 LTS but its https://abf.rosalinux.ru/advisories lists no security updates for FFmpeg 1.2 and "gentoo stable" but its http://www.gentoo.org/security/en/glsa/index.xml also lists no security updates for 1.2 also http://packages.gentoo.org/package/media-video/ffmpeg lists stable as shipping 1.2.6 which is 6 point releases behind so it appears our security updates do not reach these distributions and continued maintaince from us would in that case be a waste of time
