SPORT AND WAR Or Recollections Of Fighting And Hunting In South Africa From The Years 1834 To 1867. With A Narrative Of H.R.H. The Duke Of Edinburgh's Visit To The Cape. (Sir) John Jarvis (1819-1894) arrived in South Africa as a child in 1820 and, having been commissioned as an ensign in the Cape Mounted Riflemen in 1835, fought in the 6th, 7th, and 8th Frontier Wars. Published: George Allen & Unwin, London, Variously 1919-1927 The 'Star Edition', with all volumes running consecutively according to the number of stars on the spine, ensures a matching set of these volumes. Since they were editited and revised numerous times during Theal's lifetime, trying to match a set from purchases of odd volumes will almost certainly result in a disjointed narrative.
