Lot 53.
Patrick Campbell MacDougall Watson. I REMEMBER IT WELL. Being The
Memoirs Of The Late ... Self-published 1985. 15 numbered copies only.
Author was schooled at St Ninians in Dumfriesshire, and then at Fette.
He came to East Africa in 1914 after some time spent in Malaysia and
then Kenya. He was later enlisted in the Kenya African Rifles. Retired
to George in South Africa in 1947 until his death aged 98 in 1983.
Interesting tales from the lighter side of an interesting life.

Gerard C. Bailey. SEVEN MONTHS UNDER BOER RULE. 1999. The Reverend
Bailey was the Anglican vicar in the parish of St James in Dundee,
Natal, during the boer occupation from 23 October 1899 to 6th May 1900.
The diary covers from the declaration of war on 10th October 1899 to
15th May 1900 with a description of the battle and occupation of the
town, and a day by day report thereafter. An interesting and
well-written account.

connection was Johann Rissik who was appointed by Louis Botha as the
first Administrator of the Transvaal following Union in 1910.
