Recently changed to a new cable company, had the usual hassles with the
windows-centric "tech" help, but was able to get my broadband connection
going. However, when I try to send mail (in pine) I get the message:

There was a failure validating the SSL/TLS certificate for the server
mail.insightbb.com.

Hitting <enter> with "Details" highlighted provides additional information:
Self signed certificate in certificate chain.

and it then gives the certificate being verified.

How do I avoid self-signing that certificate? Is there a file I can
hand-edit to fix this? The warning message also tells me that

if this failure is expected and permanent you can add the option

    /novalidate-cert

to the name of the folder you attempted to access.

I was able to send this mail by answering y(es) to ignore the warning and
continue. The alternative would have been to answer n(o) to "cancel the
open folder."

Pine help is not usually this cryptic. I wasn't aware that I was trying
to access a folder, or that I had an open folder to close. I thought I
was trying to send an email. Can anyone here clarify before I go looking
for a pine mailing list?

TIA,
Dale Huckeby
(using 9.1 in case it's an mcc configuration issue)
