Perahps there is a way for it to only make a log entry if it actually has to do something.
I wonder also if it has anything to do with some of the connection errors I have been getting since being on 9.1. I tunnel vnc through ssh so I can access my machine from work. I find that 3 or 4 times throughout the day, PuTTy is giving me a connection error. Since I uninstalled sshd-monitor, I have not had this happen. Perhaps somehow the restart blows the connection. -- /g "Outside of a dog, a man's best friend is a book, inside a dog it's too dark to read" -Groucho Marx
