What are you using, machine and software, how are you doing it?

Probably a silly question, but have you tried k3b? Burns as fast as clone CD,
set up the speed for yourself, depending on what your machine and device can
handle.

What are you using, how are you doing it?

Have you tried scanning through The Gimp and setting up your scanning program
so that you can scan either brighter/lighter/shaper or whatever? These things
can all be preset.

Faxing? Sorry haven't done any for years.
