BAD idea.  Then all your private traffic is visible to all the public
machines on your network.

But if you really want your box to get hacked:
ifconfig eth0:0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx netmask xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I'm telling you, don't do it.  The instant your box is compromised,
you'll regret it.
