Thanks.  I knew there were supermount problems; but I guess I missed any
comments about disappearing directories...   though I am puzzled that
*how* a medium is mounted would, over time, affect *what* of the medium is
readable...  once mounted, isn't the actual directory structure and its
maintenance a normal file-system function?  Or is supermount just
spaghetti code that encompasses more than it should...?
