Now I have kdm, to use gdm I have to change something in the runlevel 5, isn't it?

If you have gdm running, you can just hit that, login as the new user without login out as the previous user and that's it. When you exit the 2nd user, you'll need the password of the original user to get back into his desktop, tho. Vox
