Hello out there,

a few hours ago I installed mdk 8.2 on an IBM Thinkpad 600e (client) with a
Surecom EP427 PCMCIA-Card. This card should be NE2000 compatible. I am
using another mdk 8.2-box working as DHCP-server for my LAN (works great with other
clients...). After
connecting the IBM to the HUB-Server-Internet, DHCP is providing a correct IP-adress
(according to tail -f /var/log/messages; pings are possible in both directions). But:

Sometimes this client is connected at least to the LAN-server, but in this case really
veeeery slow. If I want to reach the internet through the server it's
impossible: after a while the connection times out.
How can I test if at least the card module is working properly (I am
afraid that the NIC is the "causal agent" although I am using the
recommended module...)? Or are there any other points to be considered?
