Can you boot to Debian? If so, just run fsck on your Mandrake partition/s. And don't 
mount the partition you're fsck'ing. If the Mandrake partition is not totally hosed, 
fsck should be able to fix it. Ext3 partition is actually ext2 partition with journal, 
so you can mount the "alien" partitions as ext2 if you need files from there. And you 
could mount it read-only, just to be safe.
