Hi all, I just asked this on the newbie list, then I thought that its probably the wrong forum to ask.. so here I am :-)
Anyway, I have been asked to create an entire internet/intranet application to frontend a rather large informix database. I don't know informix from a bar of soap.. and there so many versions and options that its nearly impossible to find reliable info on the net... (even IBM's sites.) What I'd like to do is migrate them to a MySQL database, then I can write the application using the following: mod_perl CGI::Application HTML::Template DBI I know that DBI has an informix driver, but I can't help thinking that I would do better to migrate to MySQL for this, as I know alot more of mysql... Does anyone know if there is a client app for informix like MySQL's mysqldump ???? if so, what format is the output?? Is there any migration software around? Any tips/tricks or other info would be greatly appreciated. regards Franki
