Thanks for your detail explanation. But I still cannot turn on user & group quotas for local systems during boot. But /etc/fstab states /dev/hda8 /home ext user,defaults,usrquota 0 2 When I tried edquota -u user I get, edquota: Can't initialize quota on /dev/hda8: Function not implemented No filesystems with quota detected. I have upgraded to LM 9.0 RC2. Is there way to solve this? Regards, Norman
