I have Matlab 5.3 with the original cd (well, a "backup"). If you look to the cd content you'll find an installer for the linux version (also included in the CD). Unfortunately I don't have the code for linux (it 's special: it must be formatted in a special way: you have to ask it to MathWorks or you should already have it with the original box).
There is a script in the CD to automatially install Matlab under linux. Please keep me informed, even privately.
