Hm... you might try with SRPMS MySQL to compile your own RPM and then
install it.

I don't see any problems here. I've done it quite a few times, no
problems at all. Actually, I usually compile MySQL, PHP and Apache by
myself before going into production.

Most probably. If I remember correctly, mdk-8.0 is quite modern
distribution with recent glibc (at the time) so compiling your own MySQL
should be very possible.
