if he has on board video with "shared video memory" you will need to pass 
that info to the install program. when first asked install hit enter or f1 
for other option. hit f1, and type (without the quotes) "linux memory=xxx"
where xxx equals system (installed) ram minus video ram, so if I had 16 megs 
video ram on the mother board, and 256 meg ram installed, I would type "linux 
memory=240" and hit enter
