You say it's not a good idea, then you don't bother to explain why. Good going. > > This really is not an appropriate forum for those messages and, > > chances are, the developers may not even see them. > > Your opinion, don't bet on it Really. And why not? Have you gone around to ask which developers read the expert list. Wait, don't bother answering that question. Answer this one instead. How many "bug reports" posted to this list have been answered by a developer? Answer that question instead. > > The expert list is for Mandrake support on currently released > > products, not "in-progress" products. > > > > Thanks. > > Are you in charge, is this really the rule to follow ? If so, I > suggest you start with the Mandrake newsgroup first ;>> No, I'm not in charge (and I really don't see why that would matter anyways). I also don't think the Mandrake newsgroup is Mandrake-operated, so I don't really care about the newsgroup. This mailing list, however, has a specific mandate, and it is not to discuss cooker/beta problems. That is for it's own list (aka cooker). > I believe your request is kind'a tardy, as in about 9 days, > discussion about 8.x or earlier will be obsolete by your rule ;p You're right. But it has to start somewhere. And if it doesn't start now, then we will forever have bug reports posted here that end up going nowhere. Besides. There will come a time when 9.1 is in beta, and if it is generally understood that this is not the place for beta reports, then 9.1 beta cycle will be better... bugs will be responded to and corrected with out creating additional work for already over-worked developers. -- MandrakeSoft Security; http://www.mandrakesecure.net/ "lynx -source http://linsec.ca/vdanen.asc | gpg --import" {FE6F2AFD : 88D8 0D23 8D4B 3407 5BD7 66F9 2043 D0E5 FE6F 2AFD}
