Perhaps, but before he drops that kinda money on a system, perhaps he could call the cats up at pogolinux (no affiliation) and ask them to build him a graphics workstation with stuff like gimp, maybe blender, cinerella, and whateverthehell else there is, all compiled for that system for him. I think I have a copy of blender before they folded lying around here somewhere... I won't argue that perhaps animation isn't there yet, but it shan't be long. I think it's closer than audio, which is in perfectly acceptable condition for him to slap some audio on a cartoon. I don't know about graphics, but in about a year or two, linux will be an astonishing audio platform. -- jason gmaestro.org
