Printing/sending to fax a simple text file from kwrite I get a nice printing
hang and this is the logfile output from "Print to fax" (recipient and fax
number edited):

Sending to fax using: /usr/bin/sendfax -h 'hfaxd' -d
'<recipient>'@'<faxnumber>' -x '' -c 'Test fax' -f 'praedor'
/home/praedor/.kde/tmp-lapdog.ravenhome.net/kdeprint_xRlH70b

/bin/bash: -c: line 1: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `''
/bin/bash: -c: line 2: syntax error: unexpected end of file

This is the associated /var/log/messages output (fax number edited out):

Trying to fax via efax I get (from KDEPrintfax log):

Sending to fax using: /usr/bin/fax 'NAME="praedor"' DEV=modem PAGE=letter

There were errors (see T4962419.log).

I then tried setting user to root in cups for sending this friggin fax test
page and still get:

Sending to fax using: /usr/bin/fax 'NAME="praedor"' DEV=modem PAGE=letter
'FROM=""' send  xxxxxxx
/home/praedor/.kde/tmp-lapdog.ravenhome.net/kdeprint_xRlH70b

I took a look at the log file mentioned above and it contains:

I then rebooted in the hope that something would clear itself up. Nope,
problems remain.

I then tried sending from the CLI again with:
"fax send <phonenumber> testfax.ps"

I get dialtone, dialing, etc, and then an attempt to send which seems to go
well but nothing gets through (recipient receives squat). I look in the log
file for the send:

I cannot seem to get either hylafax nor efax to behave. Efax gets the
closest to working as the above indicates, with dialing, negotiation, etc,
just fails to send due to a particular modem response? Anyone have any
wisdom to impart?
