Ron,

I responded to you private on this, but I just thought of something else
also that you can try.

First the original suggestion for everyone elses benefit, as root:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables stop

Then

/etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables start

This gives you a vanilla iptables setup.  Not good for firewalling, but
excellent for testing.

Test and see what happens.  The new idea which you can try is to run
"route" as root.  You should see something similar to the following:


[root@tamriel elx]# route
Kernel IP routing table
Destination    Gateway     Genmask         Flags Metric Ref    Use Iface
pmdialD-10.icom *          255.255.255.255 UH    0      0        0 ppp0
192.168.0.0     *          255.255.255.0   U     0      0        0 eth0
127.0.0.0       *          255.0.0.0       U     0      0        0 lo
default         pmdialD-10.icom 0.0.0.0    UG    0      0        0 ppp0

This may or may not be relevant; but I'm just curious.
