Does this imply that the stock kernel in LM 8.1 is the same
old 2.4.0 kernel, and that RedHat did not dare to introduce the
new 2.4.18 kernel? 2.4.18 from LM 8.2 worked wery well when highmem
is not used, but with prices of the day 1 Gb is NOT very much.

and large memory that I left out of my attachment, I understood
that the current kernel does not handle memory above 4 Gb very well,
if at all.

Does Mandrake have any comments anywhere about the use of
"large" memory?
