An easy "mandrake" solution would be to open a console window, su as root and run modemconf. Assuming it's not listed already, click the detect button and Mandrake will make the link for you. If you want to do it manually, you can do a ln -s /dev/ttySHSF0 /dev/modem and accomplish the same thing.
