i cannot get linux-secure to boot, it is version 2.4.18-6mdksecure, from lilo
i choose 'linux-secure', i get:
loading linux..............................................
and then the machine just reboots, if i choose the ordinary kernel the
machine boots fine, i have read about adding 'nopentium' to the append line
and i have tried this but to no avail, according to mandrake's errata there
is a problem with amdk6-2 on via chipset which i have, but i don't show the
'symptoms' they describe so i don't know if this is my problem, this is the
same problem i had when installing snf8.2 on a different box with a different
mobo/cpu, i seem to remember reading somewhere that the secure kernel had
been compiled with some specific cpu options but i can't find any references
to that in a search, if that is so then perhaps all i need to do is install a
later version/compile my own?

any ideas beyond 'nopentium' on the append line?
