Hi all , I have a weird one to ask so here goes,

I triple boot win98, LM 8.0 and LM 8.2 on the same box , which is an
athlon 1.0 Ghz
Epox 8kta3 pro Mb / Wd 6 gig (win98 hda ) , Wd 10 gig ( LM 8.0 hdc )
Maxtor 20 gig
( LM 8.2 and /backup hdd ).

I followed civileme's AFAIR insrtuctions on setting up this config, and
it all plays very happily.

I keep LM 8.0 around because everything works with my hardware
perfectly, I even have
my scanner ( umax 600s ) Hp 820cse printer and the only win app I still
use,( that's why win is even in the box, and yes I tried to make a
virtual disk in wine but it ate my win drive the last time I tried )

Anyway...

I Have Lilo on hda ( win ) and the Img files on hdc ( LM 8.0 ) for both
8.0 and 8.2

all works great.

I want to attempt installing a earlier kernel 2.4.3-20mdk into the 8.2
distro.

Why ??? To see if all the things that won't work in the stock 8.2
kernel 2.4.18-6mdk
will work under the older kernel.

three things specificly, My sensors via 686a chip, vmware 2.0.4, and an
app I run thru codeweavers wine perfectly in 8.0 but poorly in 8.2 ( cd
based info app not a game )

I want to add the older kernel alongside the stock kernel, without
breaking the install
but under this exotic setup it will no doubt take more than a simple
kernel install,
since lilo isn't installed for the 8.2 distro. but runs out of the 8.0
/boot

what will I need to do to make this work , ( or is it even possible? )

Civileme, Brian, Tom, anyone know how ???
