Bad floppy drive? Try formatting a disk with: fdformat /dev/fd0H1440 (or possibly fd0u1440). Verify that /dev/fd0 is either a link to /dev/fd0H1440 or to the device in /dev/floppy. I lost your original post about how you tried to mount the device. Try mounting a known good disk with: mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
