go to /etc/rc.d/ and in the folders called rc3.d and rc5.d ( 3 for no X 
startup ) change the name of the link XXpcmcia to a any number lower then 
XXnetwork
I think the number 09pcmcia the better option, beacause it in not used.
I'm not in from to my laptop, & now not see my config.
I use an AP to connect my LAN with ADSL to My wirelessLAN, beacause I put 
external antennas, See the Ricore antenna in the google ;)
Y use my wlan fron a 2 Km to my ADSL ....
