There are a number of issues with SO6. I found this behavior whenever I attempted to open a doc directly from an attachment or by clicking on the doc in Konqueror for example. The Konq problem seemed to go away if I had SO running first. Not sure if this worked for attachments, but in any case, if I saved the file to disk first, then opened from inside SO, it seemed to be OK. Then the failure to save files started and I removed SO6 and installed OpenOffice. Seems to be a popular move on this list! There were some message about the saving problem a few days ago. I am abut to re-install and try out the remedies suggested just for the hell of it. Will post again with results. HTH Brian
