Hi,

I would like to submit an installation problem.

I have attempted to install the Mandrake 8.2 on a latop (without CD
reader) from a LAN. I followed the install procedure from a network.
That's works well up to the "choose package to install" step: at the
beginning of this step, the installation processing failed by giving the
message "An error occurred no hdlists found" and sent me back to the
previous "disk partionning" step.

I assumed this error means it does not see the Mandrake/base/hdlists
file (and related hdlist*.cz synthesis.hdlist*.cz files). I have tried
at first with the CD-ROM disc 1 accessible through the network. Next, I
have copied all the distribution on a hard disk accessible through the
network and tried again... always the same problem.

What does this damned message mean exactly? Is there a patch to avoid
this error message in order to be able to continue the installation?

Thanks to anyone in advance who can help.

JY.
