Installed 8.0 last summer, but networking didn't work. Tried the tech
support that came with the powerpack but was useless,( they didn't seem
to care or know). So I thought that I would give you guys a shot at it
now that I have some time to play with it again.

I have a Soyo Dragon motherboard with a VIA chipset nic, using VIA-rhine
kernel module. This set up worked on an earlier version of mandrake,
but doesn't work on this one. The chipset is a VT 82C100A. I'm using
the automatic IP to obtain the IP address from my router. However the
network card never works and isn't able to obtain that address. The
system works fine on windows 98 and also worked on a 7.02 mandrake
release. Has anyone found similar problems with this motherboard or is
this a kernel issue?

Thanks,
Dennis
